As the founder of GenaShae’s House, she brings personal experience as a former teen mom and a deep passion for helping others facing trauma, stress, and financial hardship. Drawing from her own journey, she provides support and resources to young mothers in need, believing that stability and compassion can transform lives. Actively involved in community service and trained in various support techniques, she is committed to creating lasting change for those navigating difficult paths.

Shenell Latham

GenaShaes House President

Shenell is an experienced entrepreneur with over a decade in business ownership, bookkeeping, and nonprofit management. As the founder of Reliable Ministry Solutions and Reliable Small Business Services, she helps small businesses and ministries streamline operations and build sustainable systems. Passionate about empowering women, Shenell also leads an online community that supports women in marriage and personal growth. Her faith-driven approach and practical resources, including a devotional, reflect her heart for helping others thrive both personally and professionally.

Shanae Stevens

GenaShaes House Treasurer

Shanae’s journey began as a teen mom, overcoming challenges to become a successful wife, mother of three, and accomplished professional. With over 15 years of accounting experience across multiple industries, she’s passionate about financial literacy and helping organizations thrive. Beyond her career, Shanae is dedicated to mentoring young women and serving her community, driven by the belief that everyone deserves support and a second chance.

Shannon Dancy

GenaShaesHouse Secretary

Shannon is a dedicated Community Health Worker with the Portsmouth Health Department, providing outreach, education, and resources to improve public health and access to care. A social work graduate student at Norfolk State University (class of 2025), she aims to combine her passion for public health and faith-based service as a future public health and church social worker. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, Shannon brings empathy, care, and a strong commitment to creating lasting change in the lives of those she serves.

Ebony Goodson

GenaShaes House Creative Coordinator

Ebony Makaya, a Hampton Roads native and Psychology graduate of Old Dominion University, is a multi-talented creative who expresses her gifts through hair, makeup, DJing, fashion, and more. She’s passionate about inspiring others to embrace their creativity while spreading love, kindness, and community everywhere she goes. Guided by her motto, “Be the change you want to see in the world,” Ebony is committed to making a positive impact through both her artistry and compassion.
